question
The making of charity quilts has been an intregal part of the Herring Run Quilt Guild throughout the years. Our members feel strongly that two of the main goals of our organization are to work together and to give back to the community. We have accomplished this through our charity quilts that bring joy, happiness and comfort to those who sew the pieces together and those who receive the finished project in a beautiful quilt.
Every February we get together and create quilts for local charities. We have given quilts to local women's shelters, children's hospitals and other charities that guild members have suggested. Our February charity quilting day is always lots of fun. Many hands make light work!
OUR NEXT CHARITY QUILTING DAY IS FEBRUARY 5, 2011!!!
Thank you to Vivian Cardinal and Joanne Joyce for offering to help coordinate our charity quilts for the 2010-2011 year.

2009 - 2010 Charity Quilt Update
Special thanks to Charlene Schultz and Sharon Ducey for the wonderful work they did coordinating our charity quilts for the 2009-2010 year. The guild produced 82 charity quilts that went to D.O.V.E. (Domestic Violence Ended) in Quincy, the Dianne Devanna Center (for the prevention of child abuse and neglect) in Braintree, and Camp Sunshine (supporting children with life threatening illnesses and their families in New England) in Sebago Lake, Maine.
2007-2008 Charity Quilt Update
Special thanks go out to Jane Matthews and Joyce Archer for the wonderful work they did during our 2007-2008 year coordinating our charity quilts. During the year the Herring Run Quilt Guild presented 49 quilts to the Weymouth Department of Social Services, Little Sisters of the Poor in Brighton, My Brother's Keeper in Easton and Pilgrims Hope in Plymouth.
2006-2007 Charity Quilt Update
Many thanks to Linda Nicholson for her tireless work with the coordinating the charity quilts in 2006-2007. Our hearts and hands were wide open as we donated a total of 47 quilts! We sent 24 to Carney Hospital Cardiac intensive care unit, 12 to The Diane Devana Home for abused children, and 10 to a center for the homeless and abused in Norwell.
Thank you to everyone in the guild that created all these quilts. Please know they are now being loved by those that received them and giving them lots of comfort and warmth.
Our goal is simple -
